At the online conference “Paper & Board for Food Contact”, participants will have two days to learn about the latest developments with regard to packaging materials. The host ‘Papiertechnische Stiftung’ (PTS) has set itself the target of providing a comprehensive overview of the latest legal regulations, research work and practical applications. These will be presented and opened up for discussion by national and international experts from research, business and government.

In addition to the relevant legal framework for food contact papers and boards, participants will be given numerous practical examples during the two-day online conference: from the special requirements for the protection of halal products to the technical issues involved in making paper drinking straws. As well as these practical examples, there will be a variety of lectures presenting the latest findings on the migration of substances, for example aluminium, from paper or cardboard packaging to the filling material. This will be supplemented by research projects on the further development of materials and their use to improve food protection.
