Packaging Institute to host practice-oriented seminar on “Packaging Design”
4 June to 6 June 2019, Berlin
Practical questions relating to packaging design are the focus of the two-day seminar “Packaging Design”, which the German Packaging Institute (Deutsche Verpackungsinstitut e.V.) is organising as part of its Packaging Academy in Berlin in June.
The topics on the agenda are correspondingly diverse: from the theoretical principles of packaging as a marketing and communication tool to the various elements of packaging design, and the packaging design process itself. This intensive input is rounded off by a detailed practical block in which participants can practice developing packaging designs themselves, taking into account the success criteria they already learned. Christian Rommel, an internationally experienced packaging expert, will be on hand to guide the participants through the event and to provide his extensive know-how and experience.

PTS Network Day 2019 – research up close!
7 May 2019, Heidenau
Papiertechnische Stiftung (PTS) is organising its first Network Day. Sustaining members, customers, and research and project partners are all invited to attend the premiere on 7 May. The idea behind the event is to be able to experience PTS research “up close”.
To kick off the Network Day, three research forums – “Waste Paper & Starch”, “Paper Coating” and “Fibre & Additives” – will invite you to take a closer look at their work. Following this, attendees are welcome to explore the entire PTS with presentations of the various laboratories and facilities held by staff members. The participants can look forward to a wide variety of stations on their discovery tour: in addition to the PTS pilot plant, packaging coding, and optical strain field analysis, numerous other laboratories and test facilities will be opening their doors to visitors.
The Network Day is free of charge, but due to the limited number of places those wishing to attend must register in advance.
