European Bioplastics Conference to be held online this year

11/06/2020

30 November to 3 December 2020

Like many other major events, this year’s European Bioplastics Conference is also being held online. From 30 November to 3 December 2020, there will be ample opportunity to gather information and engage in discussions in the various online formats planned for the event. The discussion forum for the global bioplastics sector has been growing steadily from year to year and focuses on the latest innovations in the field of bioplastics, as well as on environmental aspects and growth opportunities in the field of biobased plastics. As such, it reflects the current market trend as more and more brands and manufacturers turn to bioplastics.

As in previous years, there will be a wide range of speakers: representatives from industry, research and politics will be sharing their expertise at the event. The scheduled topics include talks on biobased and/or biodegradable polymers, packaging innovations – in particular solutions for food contact – as well as bioplastics policy and market developments in the EU and beyond. The latter will examine and discuss the initiatives and approaches of policy makers to create framework conditions designed to foster the growth of a sustainable bio-industry.

Still possible: participation in the virtual AIPIA World Congress 2020

10/01/2020

September to October 2020

The AIPIA World Congress was held virtually for the first time this year. Originally planned as a face-to-face event in Amsterdam at the end of the year, it was instead held as an online congress and exhibition on the Internet in mid-September. Anyone who missed this event has until 7 October to attend it retrospectively, as the entire virtual AIPIA Congress will remain online until the beginning of October for those who registered for it. Subsequent registration is also still possible.
The event is divided into a podium event with around 60 speakers from around the world presenting and discussing developments in smart packaging, and an exhibition area where large multinational companies can showcase their ideas for intelligent packaging solutions.

For subsequent attendance of the podium events it was and is necessary to register for a fee. Access to the exhibition area, however, is free of charge. Attendees can view products at the exhibitor stands, download video demonstrations and post questions and enquiries via e-mail. Another special feature: throughout the entire day on 7 October, exhibitors will be on site to answer questions “live” and demonstrate their products and services.

Next year, AIPIA plans to hold the next AIPIA World Congress as a face-to-face event in Amsterdam once again.

Further information about the congress and how to register for the talks or the exhibition area can be found here: https://www.aipia.info/congress-exhibition.php
